Typical Requirements Before Setup​

  • A valid SIM card provisioned for data (GPRS/4G) and able to send/receive SMS if using SMS-based configuration.
  • Access to the iStartek configuration method you prefer such as SMS commands or vendor software and the device manual.
  • Power to the VT200-L and, if installed in a vehicle, a secure mounting and wiring to the vehicle power system.
  • The correct APN (operator access point) and optional APN username/password values from the mobile operator.
  • Basic knowledge of sending SMS commands to the device or access to the installer tool provided by iStartek.

How This Tracker Connects to Plaspy​

The VT200-L is configured to report to the shared Plaspy server endpoint and port. Once provisioned, it will send periodic position updates and event-driven messages; buffered data stored during network outages is resent when connectivity is restored.

  • The tracker reports to Plaspy's endpoint at d.plaspy.com or 54.85.159.138 using port 8888.
  • Transport can be TCP or UDP depending on device configuration; choose the transport required by your installation.

  5. Configure the APN and any required APN credentials so the device can use mobile data.
  6. Apply or save the configuration on the device and restart the unit if the manufacturer instructions recommend a reboot.
  7. Validate that the VT200-L reports to Plaspy and that position updates and events appear in the platform.
