Xexun - XT009 Configuration

This page covers the public configuration context for using the Xexun XT009 GPS motorcycle tracker with the Plaspy platform. It collects the practical, public steps and server settings commonly used to point the device to Plaspy so the tracker can report location and status to your Plaspy account.

Plaspy uses shared server settings across supported devices and automatically detects the tracker protocol, while exact manufacturer-side setup steps can vary by firmware version, hardware revision, installation type, and vendor tools. The XT009 supports SMS and GPRS configuration patterns commonly used by Xexun devices; below we show the public SMS commands and workflow used to register the device with Plaspy.

Configuration Overview

Preparing an XT009 for Plaspy means telling the tracker where to send its GPRS reports and ensuring the device has working mobile connectivity and correct APN settings. The goal is to make the tracker visible in Plaspy and to validate that location and event reports arrive reliably.

  • Configure the tracker's GPRS server address to point to the Plaspy server endpoint.
  • Verify APN, username, and password so the device can establish GPRS.
  • Choose and confirm transport (UDP or TCP) and use the shared Plaspy port.
  • Save the configuration and, if needed, restart the device to apply changes.
  • Confirm the device reports to Plaspy and appears in the platform for monitoring.

Plaspy Server Settings

  • server domain d.plaspy.com
  • server IP 54.85.159.138
  • port 8888
  • transport support for UDP or TCP (device may be configured using either)
  • Plaspy automatically detects the tracker protocol across supported devices and all devices in Plaspy use the same port

Typical Requirements Before Setup

  • A powered and reachable XT009 installed or connected to temporary power for configuration.
  • An active SIM card inserted in the XT009 with data enabled and a matching APN for the mobile operator.
  • Access to the manufacturer's configuration method for the XT009 (SMS or official setup tool).
  • Knowledge of the device password (the public default password shown in the commands below is 123456).
  • Ability to send and receive SMS messages from an authorized phone number if using SMS configuration.
  • A Plaspy account or access to a Plaspy instance to verify the device appears after setup.

How This Tracker Connects to Plaspy

The XT009 is configured to send its GPRS reports to the shared Plaspy server endpoint and port so Plaspy can display location and event data. Once the server and APN are set, the tracker opens a GPRS session and transmits position updates to Plaspy where the platform automatically detects the incoming protocol.

  • Device sends GPRS packets to d.plaspy.com or 54.85.159.138 on port 8888.
  • Transport can be UDP or TCP depending on device selection and network; Plaspy accepts both.
  • Plaspy automatically detects the tracker protocol and processes incoming messages.
  • Successful connection enables position updates, movement alerts, and status reporting within Plaspy.
  • After configuration, validate reporting by checking the device entry in Plaspy.

Common Configuration Workflow

  1. Access the official Xexun XT009 configuration method (SMS commands or Xexun configuration tool) provided by the manufacturer.
  2. Enter the Plaspy server address by using d.plaspy.com or the Plaspy server IP 54.85.159.138 in the device server settings.
  3. Set the service port to 8888 (Plaspy uses the same port for all devices).
  4. Choose UDP or TCP transport if the device requires a transport selection.
  5. Configure the device APN, and if applicable, APN username and password for the SIM card.
  6. Apply or save the configuration and restart the device if required by the device or firmware.
  7. Validate that the XT009 reports to Plaspy and appears in your Plaspy account or platform view.

Example Configuration Commands

The XT009 can be configured using SMS commands. The commands below are the public SMS commands commonly used for initial setup. The sample commands use the default device password 123456. Replace the placeholders [apn], [apnu], and [apnp] with your operator APN, APN username, and APN password as needed.

  • Optional initial step to restore factory defaults (use only if needed during initial setup):
begin123456
  • Set the operator APN (replace [apn] with your mobile operator APN):
apn123456 [apn]
  • Set the APN username (only if your operator requires an APN username; replace [apnu]):
apnuser123456 [apnu]
  • Set the APN password (only if your operator requires an APN password; replace [apnp]):
apnpasswd123456 [apnp]
  • Set the GPRS server to point to Plaspy. This example uses the public Plaspy server IP and port:
adminip123456 54.85.159.138 8888
  • Set the GPRS mode (use if the device expects a mode command; follow manufacturer guidance):
gprsmode123456
  • Set the upload/reporting interval to 60 seconds (this example sets a 60 second interval):
t060s***n123456

Notes on placeholders and password:

  • [apn] is your mobile operator APN string.
  • [apnu] is the APN username if required by the operator.
  • [apnp] is the APN password if required by the operator.
  • The device sample default password shown in these commands is 123456. If your device password has been changed, use the current password.

Send these SMS commands from an authorized phone number to the XT009. After sending the server and APN commands, allow time for the device to establish GPRS and confirm reporting in Plaspy.

Configuration Notes

  • SMS-based configuration is supported by the XT009 according to the public command set shown above; manufacturer tools or PC software may offer an alternative method.
  • Firmware versions and hardware revisions can change command syntax or default behaviors; verify commands if a command does not work.
  • Choose UDP or TCP based on installer preference and network behavior; Plaspy accepts both transports on port 8888.
  • Plaspy uses a single shared port for all supported devices and automatically detects the protocol, so use port 8888 when pointing the tracker to Plaspy.
  • If a restart or power cycle is required by the device after applying settings, perform it to ensure the tracker establishes the GPRS session.

Why Use Plaspy with This Configuration

Using the Xexun XT009 with Plaspy gives organizations a practical way to monitor motorcycles and receive event-driven alerts while relying on a consistent server endpoint and port across devices. Pointing the XT009 to Plaspy's server enables centralized visibility of location updates and operational events so teams can manage assets and respond to incidents efficiently.
