Typical Requirements Before Setup​

  • A charged tracker with sufficient battery or connected power; the CCTR-808 supports extended standby via solar and large battery.
  • An active SIM card with data and SMS capability installed in the tracker so APN and GPRS reporting can function.
  • Access to an SMS-capable phone or manufacturer configuration tool to send setup commands to the device.
  • Knowledge of the device password; the public sample below uses the default password 123456.
  • Correct APN information from the mobile operator for data connectivity (APN, optional username and password).

How This Tracker Connects to Plaspy​

The CCTR-808 is configured to report its location and state to the Plaspy listener by setting the device GPRS server to the Plaspy endpoint and the agreed port. Once communication is established Plaspy will detect the protocol automatically and begin receiving periodic updates.

  • The tracker sends GPRS data to the Plaspy server endpoint d.plaspy.com or 54.85.159.138 on port 8888.
  • Transport may be configured as UDP or TCP; select either transport as supported by the device firmware.

  1. Access the official manufacturer configuration method or software, or use SMS commands as provided by Carscop documentation.
  2. Enter the Plaspy server domain d.plaspy.com or the server IP 54.85.159.138 in the device server or GPRS server field.
  3. Set the server port to 8888 as the destination port for reporting.
  4. Choose the transport type UDP or TCP if the device requires a transport selection for the server connection.
  5. Configure operator APN and optional APN username and password so the device can attach to the mobile network.
  6. Apply or save the configuration and, if required, restart the device to make changes active.
  7. Validate that the device reports to Plaspy and that the platform detects the tracker protocol and begins showing position updates.

  • [apn] is the mobile operator APN string needed for data connectivity.

  • SMS-based configuration is supported and commonly used for field devices; ensure you have SMS access to the device SIM.
  • Default device password shown in public commands is 123456; if an installer or vendor changed it, use the current password or perform an authorized reset.
