  • A charged PT-720 device with a working nano SIM card that has data enabled
  • Ability to send and receive SMS messages to the device phone number for SMS based configuration

  • Known APN settings for the SIM operator (APN, username, password) to configure GPRS

How This Tracker Connects to Plaspy

When configured, the PT-720 reports location and events to the shared Plaspy server endpoint and port. Plaspy receives those inbound reports and associates them with a device record so location and alerts are available in the platform.

Common Configuration Workflow

  1. Access the official Castel PT-720 configuration method or documentation to confirm the SMS command format for your firmware.
  2. Identify the device ID and derive the default SMS secret key (the last 6 ASCII characters of the device ID) for sending commands.
  3. Enter the Plaspy server as either the domain d.plaspy.com or the IP 54.85.159.138 in the device configuration.
  4. Set the port to 8888, which Plaspy uses for all supported devices.
  5. Choose UDP or TCP transport if the tracker requires an explicit transport selection.
  6. Apply or save the configuration and restart the device if required by the manufacturer.
  7. Validate that the device reports to Plaspy and that location and alerts are visible in the platform.

Send these SMS messages to the PT-720 device phone number. If your device or firmware requires selecting UDP or TCP explicitly, use the manufacturer method to set transport in addition to the server and port parameters.

  • The PT-720 supports SMS based configuration in the public commands shown; keep the SMS secret key secure and change it if firmware allows.
  • APN values vary by cellular operator and market; verify exact APN, username, and password with your SIM provider before sending commands.
