  • Plaspy automatically detects the tracker protocol so you only need to point the device to the Plaspy endpoint.
  • All devices in Plaspy use the same port so you do not need device specific port numbers.

Typical Requirements Before Setup​

  • A powered and installed TLT-2K device with working SIM card and data capability for GPRS.
  • Knowledge of the SIM operator APN and any optional APN username or password for mobile data.
  • Access to the manufacturer's configuration method for the device, commonly SMS commands or a vendor tool.
  • The device default password if required by SMS commands (public example uses 0000).
  • Confirmed mobile network coverage at the device location and an active data plan if using GPRS.
  • A way to receive or monitor device responses (for example via SMS replies) to confirm settings applied.

How This Tracker Connects to Plaspy​

The TLT-2K can be configured to report position and related events to Plaspy by sending its telemetry to the shared Plaspy server endpoint and port. Once APN and server settings are applied, the device uses the mobile network to open a GPRS session and transmit location updates at the configured intervals.

  • The tracker is configured to report to the Plaspy server endpoint (d.plaspy.com or 54.85.159.138) on port 8888.
  • Position updates and event reports are sent over GPRS once GPRS mode is enabled on the device.
  • Plaspy automatically detects the device protocol so the same server and port work across supported trackers.

  3. Set the port to 8888 as the shared Plaspy port for all devices.
  4. If the device requires a transport selection, choose UDP or TCP according to installer preference or device support.
  5. Configure the APN and optional APN username and password for the SIM using the manufacturer method.
  6. Apply or save the configuration and, if required, restart the device to activate new settings.

  • When a device requires transport selection, UDP or TCP both work with Plaspy on port 8888; choose based on network reliability and installer preference.
  • Keep APN placeholders intact until you replace them with your operator values to avoid sending incorrect strings.
  • After applying settings, validate data arrival on Plaspy to confirm the device is successfully connected to d.plaspy.com or 54.85.159.138 on port 8888.
